taking a spring break.

We went for a walk in the sun.

Past the tire swing. To the park.

Time out for Mr. McJoeJoe. Poor guy.

Um, yeah. The mud was inevitable. So was the peeing in the bushes but we don't take pictures of that. We just scream and run to pull up the pants and have the "we don't pee in the bushes" talk...again. ugh.

I love spring.

baby legs tutorial.

So I've seen a ton of baby legs tutorials on the web lately. It's such a cool alternative when you can get awesome socks for $2 a piece. And EASY! Seriously guys.

Here we go:

Pull the sock gently so it stretches as you sew, making sure your stitches stay close and tight. Stay right up to the edge of your sock.

That's it. They stay tight up at the top, but can hang out all cute and ruffly by her sweet little feet.

Then I had these footies left over. I used 'em to practice the ruffle edge thing (there's a technical name for that ruffle, but I have no idea what it is).

And I couldn't just let them sit there staring at me. So they turned into these.

Here's another super easy tutorial without a sewing machine from little birdie secrets. She uses them as arm warmers...very cool.

Happy Weekend. Go buy some socks. Target has a way cute 3 pack for $6.99 right now. Go, Go!

I won this Pay It Forward on Shellie's blog forever ago...and due to the total and complete loss of brain cells that follow every consumed Cadbury Mini Egg...I forgot the premise of the Pay It Forward. To...obviously...pay it forward. duh.

So, here it is. I get something handmade from Shellie (I'm hoping it's a short documentary on kissy face) sometime this year. And in turn, I do this for someone else. Here are the rules (which I have taken liberty on altering just a bit. Is that rude? Totally.)

1. Three of you who comment will get a handmade item from me within 365 days. I will pick randomly.

2. You have until tomorrow night, Friday the 13th. Oooh. Freaky.

3. You have to do this on your blog.

Shellie's rules were the first 3 commenters win, but I know not all of you read this blog every day and I wanted to open the playing field so I'm saying ANY 3 commenters (who will be chosen randomly). You can do it however you want on your blog, because you're the boss, just as long as you pass on a handmade package of bloggy happiness to 3 of your readers.

Thanks, Shellie. Looking forward to my handmade Godiva Key Lime Truffles.

no worries friends...

If you've noticed your Followers count has gone down by one...it's totally my fault. I am SO to blame for that.

I've changed all my follows to anon. I know, I'm sorry. I realize the repercussions of this because I have indeed felt the confusion of seeing those digits drop. You ask...Am I boring? Did I offend you? Do I smell? Why hast thou dumped me?

So, to calm your fears and concerns...I love you. I love you dearly. I just love you anonymously now.

I understand if you're angry.
I'll send you a cheesecake.
And all will be well.

recycled clothes. my new favorite thing...to think about.

So I was going through the bag of goodwill clothes that's been in the corner of my room waiting for me to have the time to consign it and maybe make a buck, and I found this cute shirt. I thought...this is a cute shirt.

So I tried to recycle. Go green, you know. I pulled out some more stained throw-aways to add to the lonely tree mix.

Well. Poor shirt. I had good intentions. I love Kacie's quirky new dress, but I need to learn a bit more about reattaching stretchy sleeves before I go all earthy again. The whole football shoulder pad thing wasn't the look I was going for.

Research...and then Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

donna's not having a girl.

she's having a boy.
But I didn't find this out until after I made the girl bag.

So I turned it inside out and put boy stuff on it.

I love happy accidents.
Good luck in NY Donna. And happy boy.

best day ever.

Today was official pajama day.
You do squat on pajama day.

Except belly races.

Kacie won every time 'cause she cheats.

We unlocked the Star, Leaf, and Special Cup in the 50cc races. Good thing kids like to watch mom kick whooee with her fancy pants Bowser bike. Makes for an excellent pajama bottoms festivity.

Hold on to your green shell and throw it back right before the red shell is gonna smash ya. btw.

I did manage to sneak a shower all by myself during Kacie's nap. I don't have much alone time in the shower so I took some time and bonded with my new Pantene.

One time, when my sister-in-law Katie lived with us, we came home from a date and she was in the shower with Dani in her little tub. I was like, "Uh, Katie? We don't shower with other people's babies."

that's good advice.

Then I put my pajamas back on and resumed position behind the no.1 controller and unlocked Diddy Kong. Sweet mother of squat.

We ate cheese and pitas for lunch, because there was no bread. So we made 6 loaves of bread that didn't rise and ate two of them for dinner.

Joey practiced his photography. And we all practiced crossing our eyes.

I call this the woodchuck. Sometimes I like to pull the woodchuck from behind the piano in Senior Primary on Sundays. Not in Junior because they cried once. But it breaks up my 2 hours of piano bench.

I stole my sister-in-law Lori's technique of 4:00 clean the house time. The kids cried, because Dani was close to unlocking Daisy, but we did two loads of laundry, tidied 4 rooms, vaccumed 5, and lysoled 2 bathrooms. I love Lori. Bless you.

Mr. Mooring saw my pajamas in the car ride line when he asked me to roll down my window to tell me Dani has art displayed downtown this week. I squealed for Dani, then realized he glanced at my Care Bear pants.

It's pajama day, Mr. Mooring.

best day ever.

i love Cosas Minimas, by Blanca Gomez.

I'm going to pretend to buy these and pretend hang them in my pretend painted hallway, after I pretend to finish the laundry.
I just love looking at them.
Found her from Guest Mom Stephmodo on designmom.

job hazards.

So I asked Jake what he wanted to be when he grows up.

"A race car driver" he says.

And then pauses.

"No, that's kind of dangerous. I might crash and lose a limb or something. Maybe I want to be an Australian Crocodile Hunter. 'ello mate."

And the pause.

"No, that's probably not very safe either. Maybe a basketball player. Or a soccer player."

pause. pause. pause.

"Actually, none of those sound okay. I think I'll be a Chuck-E-Cheese worker."

To which big sister Dani adds her support:
"Nope. That's not a good one either, Jake. A dirty kid could kick you in the tenders."

pause. groan.

"It's either that or crocodiles." he says.
