So I asked Jake what he wanted to be when he grows up.
"A race car driver" he says.
And then pauses.
"No, that's kind of dangerous. I might crash and lose a limb or something. Maybe I want to be an Australian Crocodile Hunter. 'ello mate."
And the pause.
"No, that's probably not very safe either. Maybe a basketball player. Or a soccer player."
pause. pause. pause.
"Actually, none of those sound okay. I think I'll be a Chuck-E-Cheese worker."
To which big sister Dani adds her support:
"Nope. That's not a good one either, Jake. A dirty kid could kick you in the tenders."
pause. groan.
"It's either that or crocodiles." he says.

"in the tenders"??? Learned that from Smallville I suspect...
Tenders is now my word of choice, thank you Cally!
The "tenders"-- I like that way better than "onions" and all the other things my boys say. I might have to adopt that.
Good luck with the occupation hunting :)
Ah, the dilema of a young kid trying to decide what to BE when they grow up. I still haven't decided for myself---I understand the confusion.
The "tenders",I do believe, is from Kung Fu Panda. It seems to be a favorite word around here. Love the story!
my gosh that is way too cute!!!
ok- it's official- dani is the funniest kid ever! i mean, her comments on the typewriter had me thinking it, but the 'tenders' comment puts her on top! hahaha!!!
yup, the tenders came from KungFu Panda.
skidoosh.
That made me laugh so hard!
Classic! Oh, and I LOVE the Hermione doll!

Thank you! I REALLY needed a laugh. I'd seriously be crying without it...
