10 minute pajama pants tutorial

Photobucket

Remember way back to Halloween?...Joey needed some last minute ghost pants, but I didn't have any white material I was willing to use so I improvised. I grabbed one of his pajama tee-shirts and used those. It was so easy and so quick because I didn't have to hem anything or fold over the waist or finish any seams. It's my new favorite. I've been cutting up my huge pile of goodwill shirts all month.

Here's how:

Cut a piece of thick elastic an inch or two less than the measurement of your child's waist.
Kacie's waist is 21", so I cut the elastic 20". This way her pants don't fall down. phew.

done! That took 8 minutes and 23 seconds. awesome.

Now make this one:

Now sew elastic around the top the same way you did for the pants.

And you have an awesome skirt in 10 minutes.

Matt.

Photobucket

I've been thinking about home.

My home is here, where I sit and type.
where my children sleep.
But home is there, too. that barn in Canada,
where I've never lived but spent each summer of my life.

I like to breath the air there.

home is where I love the most.
Home is my family.
Where I'm loved the most.

Here.
and there.

It's where I've been.
Where I'll be again
with Conan and our children, forever.
and ever.
The place I don't remember, but I know.

Where I can rest.

My cousin passed away last week.
It's been a long thinking week. about him. about home.
about family. time. the important stuff.

We spent a lot of days at that barn.

I love my family. It's hard not to be with them now.
Not that there's anything I could do for them
to make it stop.
but it's hard to be
away.

it helps to know,
Matt's home.
resting.

and I'm pretty sure he likes the air there.

if I were a Liberty of London...

Photobucket

I'd be jealous of all the other girls.
Look at her florals.
and then I'd pass by the mirror
on accident
and say,
"my my, you're lovely."

I'd be my favorite Liberty.
And then I'd throw myself all over
everything and make the world
beautiful.

I'd love myself.

It's All Good. Bag Auction for Cancer Research!

Chelsie was 19 when she was diagnosed with cancer.

She's been cancer free for 5 years now, and is celebrating by raising $25,000 for cancer research. {And by running a marathon in Ireland with her 4 older siblings - you can read all about that here.} Awesome.

I've made 4 bags that are up for auction on ebay, and all the proceeds go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. {Chelsea only needs $3,000 more to reach her goal! Every bit helps!! Christmas, Birthdays, A Good Cause...}

Chelsie's sister, Desi, told me Chelsie always said it's all good during her treatment.
So I put a tag with that humble reminder on each bag; because it is.

Each bag is listed below,
with a link to its ebay page.

Auction closes Wednesday November 10th.
