hey sweetheart,

You really don't have to get me anything for Valentine's Day, because your undying love and devotion is quite sufficient.

However, should you choose to declare your love in an ... hmm ... accessorizing kind of way, any of these will do:

i opened a shop.

I've been wanting to for a while, but I've been chicken I guess. I've needed a place to sell all this stuff I make, and Etsy was the logical choice, but I've been dragging my feet. I wanted to wait until I had a good stock of stuff, and a really good business plan, and a good unique product, and good marketing, and good packaging, and lots of time to spend on it.

things just don't happen that way in my world.

So I jumped in. I took pictures of the stuff I had, and just did it. It was hard! Wondering how to word things, how to describe the item, is it not enough info?, too much?, what the whooey do I say about myself on that profile page?, yadda yadda. A lot to take in.

I did decide on free shipping ($4 to Canada. Sorry fellow Canucks.). Because I like free shipping. And I decided to keep it really simple. Nothing fancy. I like that.

I'll just post different things when I can, and see what catches on, and just go with it right?.

So check it out, and tell me what you think. What would you like me to put in there, what should I change, what should you do with your hidden stash of Halloween candy in the cupboard? eat it.

I have a few more ideas of things I'd really like to get in there by next week before Christmas (including but not limited to some dolls and more bags and an apron or two), but that all depends totally on how much fun we have here at home and how much I can get done. Which may not be much because we just signed up for Netflix instant streaming through our Wii and we can't stop watching PeeWee Herman's Great Adventure and Garfield and the Secret of Kells and all the chick flicks I've missed. awesome.

Be sure to order if you wanna by DECEMBER 17TH in order to get it by Christmas.

shoes for me.

Dani and I went school shopping today. She got good stuff, I'll show ya later, but this is what's most important right now....I got these:

Payless Shoe Source. hello! The first pair was $7. The second was $10. The 3rd pair was 1/2 off (seriously bogo) for $5. I'm not kidding. I rearranged our shoe shelves to accomodate.

And did you know, you can buy their shoes online for the same sale price as in the store in your size with a gagillion choices and have it shipped to a store near you for FREE? (Or $5.95 to your door, but let's not be lazy.)

Yup.

I can't sleep. So many possibilities.

i need a new back to school outfit.

that should do it.

sunshine at the shopping center.

I took the kids to buy a $10 shirt at Ann Taylor's I'd been thinking about all weekend. There was a fountain next to the store, so the kids took advantage of the sunshine and I took advantage of the photo op. Up until Joey stomped through the flower bed with his boots. Then we were done.
And I got a great shirt.

Target Shoe Fest. I wanna.

I don't claim to know what I'm talking about when it comes to fashion. But I know what I like. And I like Target. And I like shoes. And I like colorful shoes from Target. So you can imagine my click and paste frenzy when scooping on the availability of my yellow shoes {seen below} some have inquired about...Target.com.

All I've ever pretended to know I learned from Target. And American Idol. And mermag. And What Not to Wear. And Gap ads. And Marshalls. And I like to throw in some Lana Lang from time to time.
I'm a well rounded learner, with an emphasis on versatility. I speak many languages.

I'm all about the flat. And the flower. $24.99

Zetta Tall Rain Boot in Purple. I'd wear these with a blue pleated skirt. And a yellow headband. And a pink umbrella; because it would be raining. $24.99.

Elani Demi Wedges in Red Patent.
I'd shave my legs for these. $22.99.

Elsa Slide Sandals in Pooter...I mean Pewter.
bring on the fuschia toeglaze. $13.99

yes please. $12.99

And of course, my favorite, the flip flop. Which I still prefer to call a thong but do not as to avoid a nasty visual. {I rue the day the thong changed the life and style of comfortable summer footwear jargon as we know it. Knew it.}

Lizbeth Flip Flop in Black. $12.99

tomatoes and pyrex by amandakindregan

Have I mentioned I love Pyrex? The old stuff you have to look for.

I do. I love old Pyrex.

And I don't like tomatoes.

But I love this picture.

I broke my small blue bowl. Another one. I like to actually use my Pyrex, not just display them. That's boring...they need life. But my collection is slowly dying because I use 'em; tile floors are not kind. It makes me sad. so I better buy these happy tomatoes.

elephannie

My sister had the cutest birds in her kitchen this weekend. She found them here...at Elephannie. The coolest vinyl wall art, and it's affordable.

I pretend bought way too much yesterday; I'm just trying to find the strong, confident, decisive-ness hidden in my soul before I for real buy the right ones. You have to be very selective. You can't have a chicken and a swallow resting on every household prepicife. That's totally not the word. Uh...hold on...precipice. There you go. Thank you dictionary.com.

So many fowls...so little wall space.

decor8 roomboard contest

That I'm not going to enter anymore.

I've decided the world of fashion and design is a great big foreign country to me. I can't look beyond Target and Pottery Barn.

Darlyn and Merrilee inspired me to expand some of my pretend shopping likes into an actual idea board, and what better contest than an Amy Butler one. But I can't figure out how to get all these ideas and cool stuff into a board. All these people have Apple computers. That's all I can sumise. surmise.

But I wanted to save my ideas for when we build our house, so here's my Mud RooM. Try to visualize.

Yeah, that's a drinking fountain. Sweet. And outlets above the shelf to plug in battery chargers, etc. And fabric covered corkboards. I forgot to draw the magazine rack for kids school papers and library books. And the quiet children. Home sweet clean mud room. I'm not an artist, pretend the drawing looks cool.

this is a mirror.
