never...EVER...leave your house on the last Saturday before Christmas. ever.
PS. to self: buy bread the day before the last Saturday before Christmas.
string on finger: Put a big capital X with a fat sharpie over the last Saturday before Christmas on the 09 calendar you forgot to buy for your stocking. And draw a little picture of hundreds of pickup trucks with bows on their bumpers & grouchy consumers who didn't keep their reciepts.
embroider this and frame it: don't stand in line for the breaded shrimp sample at Sam's Club the last Saturday before Christmas; which won't be hard because you're never...EVER...leaving your house again.
On the last Saturday before Christmas. duh, cally.

I hit Wal-Mart, Target, Kohl's and the local market beginning at 7:30 AM this past Friday morning. The Friday morning before your dreaded Saturday - is okay. But only, only if you go early! I was afraid to wait any later than that. And it was all in and out shopping you see. My two year old had great big giant eyes through it all. Not our typical behavior or morning routine. To top off our last minute shopping expedition, we had a pit stop at Dunkin Donuts. It was good stuff. Then, at 12:36 PM our heavens above opened and we received a 12" snow dump. Great stuff happens, I tell you, on the Friday before your dreaded, not to be forgotten, Saturday.
Merry Christmas! - Alissa
Mu hubby went out in the crowds yesterday... I stayed home. I have been out the weekend before Christmas... and I hated it. So I just don't do it.

NO Kidding ---------I haven't even been so much as to a mall this Christmas. We cut back on our spending, and everything I needed was "other" places, not at the mall. Strange---- I kinda miss the hostility. Have a great Christmas my dear
What were you, suicidal?
yeah, we didn't leave the house until 8:30 pm. the mall was quite nice at nine o'clock.
OOOOOO......I still have shopping to do. I am way behind on everything this year. I am dreading goign to walmart tuesday morning...which is the only time I can go. Yeah, I'm crazy. I'll be a basket case when I get home I'm sure!!!
Helloooo people! Come live with me in small town AL! The "crowds" are laughable and everybody loves Jesus here. A new appreciation for places not yet big enough to be called a city. Merry Merry!
I prefer ignorant, Donna.
Suicidal sounds so...deliberate.
oh, you poor girl. I'm so glad you're home safe.
now STAY.
cali- just wanted to say I love your blog. You have inspired me to get a sewing machine. I have to admit I made a monster for my little girl. It is not nearly as cute as yours are...lucky for me, it was a MONSTER. They are supposed to be a little bit scary right??
Anywho, just wanted to say that and give you a quick Merry Christmas shout.
Thank you so much, Adelle. I'd love to see your monster, and other new sewing machine creations.
So fun.
