the truth of the mother matter is...

Sometimes the kids wear their pajamas for 48 hours. Until the after bath routine when they get a nice new pair of clean, fresh pj's for bed.

Sometimes we watch more than the healthy dose of tv. duh.

Sometimes I lie.
The candy's all gone.
I don't know how to jump rope.
It's yummy.
Your face'll stay that way.

Sometimes I take the kids to Target barefoot so we don't lose any shoes.

Sometimes the laundry makes me cry.

I eat cheescake for breakfast.

Did you watch Oprah the other day. The Truth about motherhood?! So true! Sometimes I say the library is closed because I don't feel like walking up there.

I try to lie when I hear "Mom? What's that in your mouth?" or "what was that crinkling noise? What are you eating?" I say "Just carrots." Then they say "Hmmm...smells kind of like chocolate."
Drat.

Now this is the kind of post i needed...you didn't even dedicate it to me.

I noticed that you didn't write "sometimes" in front of that cheesecake.

I love it. Every single mother out ther could relate to this post. I guess I don't eat cheescake for breakfast because it takes to much effort to make it, cereal is easier. I think moms are entitled to lie...sometimes. :)

Oh Cally, I am laughing my butt off.
Your candor is fantastic and ooooh so true.
Glad its not just me.
And judging by the comments, its not just US!!
You are a fantastic MOMMY!
And let me know how that whole "going to the bathroom by yourself" it sounds mystical...
Love you,
Em

Ha! You know, I've never done the "your face'll stay that way" before. Does it work?
Any dessert works for breakfast around here, especially if it has oats in it. :)

I totally get the pajama thing. I think we lived in them up at college. Maybe thats why i work in the hospital in scrubs - ready made pj's all day. Jake, 3, has learned that when mom calls him to "wash" his hair, it really means to lean over the bath so I can dab some water over it to fool the public for another day. Hmmm....

Same. And I'm with Corrie, but my kids are starting to catch on.

Sometimes I don't go anywhere all day just cause I don't feel like doing my hair.

And sometimes I eat a banana split for dinner (like yesterday).

This is fun.
