Mario Party, and I want some bon bons.

There was no blogging last week, but we did have a party!

Dani and I found most of the ideas online, but I couldn't find an easy hat tutorial so I figured that one out.  And I actually took pictures while making them, so I'll share a tutorial on those someday.

And the quilt?  Sitting unfinished on the chair in the Corner of Neglected Projects.  It didn't quite make it to the baby shower.  I hate that.

I'm dying to sew.  To just be creative, somehow.  I have been so married to "busy" lately that my creative brain, which seems to be dominant, is getting very angry with me.  So I'm cranky.

This pile of fabric is sitting on my desk, waiting for some attention.  I sit down and just look at it sometimes.  Sketch pictures of what it could be.  Then get up and move on.  Sad.

Busy isn't nice.  It's obnoxious.

time to simplify.
Again.

Well if you planned that Mario party... you are definitely being creative. Just maybe not in the way you would hope to be.

I sympathize though. I've been married to a bit of "busy" myself lately.

I loved the photo of the pinata where the "Marios" had to jump into the block. So great!

super cute party cally! What is it with this Mario fever that is back? It feels so nostalgic. Fun. And I love the progress of your quilt...and I hear you on being busy. lamo. I too get cranky and restless if i can't create. a blessing and a curse, eh?

Remember me? The girl who can't sew a cape? Well, I decided last night that I was going to come up with Mario/Luigi/Toad costumes for my boys for Halloween. So you should post how you did those hats ASAP, so I can have lots of time to make them 4-5 times, and then end up buying one...

FUN party! I love that they hit the pinata with their heads! Awesome!
Sometimes I go and just spend time with my fabric too.

indeed...when buys interfers with our crreativity, or fun time, then it is obnoxious for sure.

I did a Mario party for my son last year and I found a good hat tutorial here: http://www.groovykidstuff.com/?p=167. I did the "M" and "L" in a similar way to Cally with white felt, not foam per the tutorial.

AndyPandyJackaDandy, hope that helps! The hats are really easy. Two circles and a brim. I don't have a blog or anything, but I'll attempt to include a link to my Facebook album from the party...
