cousins and triathalons.

The cousins came in this weekend for the dad's triathalon in Alcoa. Conan has done 2 now. He's good. I love races; I cried twice. Okay three times. Once while we were walking to the transition area to see if we could catch Conan starting the run and we passed two little boys sitting on the curb holding a big "We Love You Daddy" sign. I got a bit choked up it was so sweet. And then a couple times at the finish line. The best was Conan of course, but I got really ferklempt watching 3 boys waiting on the grass for their mom, and all of them jumped up when they saw her and ran like crazy with her to the finish line. It was so darn cool I even had a real tear that time.

Anyways, my husband is awesome. He finished really well this time; and we're off to Gulf Shores in the Fall for another. I'm a little worried about him swimming in the ocean, though. Sharks, you know. And screeching eels.

waiting for the results...

Triathalon?
Wow!
I am impressed.
It is so cool that family all comes together for support and encouragement.

What a memorable experience for the whole family.

Way to go, Conan! Cally, how awesomely cool would it be to do one together with him? You've got a few months to train right?

Triathalons. Yikes. My sister, Megan--the one who used to "hate running"--now does those too. Wha?!

Since this last pregnancy I have considered maybe training up to a 1/2 marathon. Maybe. But me no likey the extra coordination of biking and high probability of getting kicked in the face for the swim-off. I do like the fact that it is entirely kosher to pee in your wetsuit post-swim though. Go Conan go!

Oooh, fun. Is that a full triathalon? I just did a 185 mile relay race...you can see the photos on fb, but I know you're not into that kind of stuff. (Fb, I mean). I happen to agree with Hecklinger about the biking/swimming stuff. But I didn't know about the peeing. Hmmm. Anyway, Love ya!

Whenever Evan does a triathlon I cry too. I cry tears of relief when I see him come out of the water and then, I have to hide my tears every time he crosses the finish line. I hope he doesn't know.
