taking the plunge

three words have stopped me from officially selling stuff...

intimidation
discipline
danijakeandyjoeykacie

it's scary. i'm a really good faker. there is a level of professionalism needed in economic endeavors, of which i have none. i'm not quite in that realm of feeling like my addiction of making is worth the "buy me" route. i'm not disciplined - i can't possibly imagine figuring out how to meet "deadlines", and stay productive when i really just want to sit, and eat donuts. and...i've already got a good job, working for five clients i'm in love with. it feels kinda selfish. i suppose i have the power to dictate how busy i want to be, and i can invite krispy kreme to my craft table on special occasions, so here it is...

i'm making stuff already, cause i like to. so i might as well make stuff and sell it. i'm just going to keep it simple, and make a place here on the blog where you can buy stuff if you want. i appreciate all the sweet requests for commercializing, so here i go...taking the plunge.

i am in the process of tweeking the pictures i have, and so forth. so give me another week or so, to fine tune this. i'll give you more details...when...well...when i think some up.

thanks for the push. i don't enjoy jumping off cliffs, at least alone anyways.

I am not surprised at my mixed feelings....#1 feeling: "yeah for cally, she just SO deserves to make money on her amazing craftiness", #2 feeling: wasn't I the first one with a blog, and why can't I find a way to make money?, #3 feeling: I can't wait to give you a post all to your own on my blog when you officially open up, #4: It will be a proud moment to say that I know you when you are famous! (not that I am not proud to know you now) #5: When Cally is famous and she is asked about her little friend Alice Gold, she better not tell them about the girls camp diagnosis!

And the #6 and final reaction to your glorious news....Is she nuts? Oh the commitment! I am not surprised that you you are taking the plunge, you can do anything. And every year is one more closer to having all your kids in school and you can CRAFT ALL DAY! There is no better excuse for your madness than, "What Conan, I am making SOOOOO much money!"

I am truly happy for you, and don't plan to do one bit of sewing for you, unless you want to go out of business!

Kudos! I'm really, really glad you're going to do this. It will make you happy and make you money. Just take it one little bag at a time. Wait, what does this mean for the future of Amme & Neb?

Sweet! I would like to officially order my quiet book for church now. Can I be the first person to purchase from Calico? Send me a bill, baby! And way to go because you definitely have the talent and you deserve to be recognized!

thankyou lori. i didn't mention amme & neb...this will be just a pre-cursor, if you will, to the actual etsy store lori & i have plans for. so eventually it won't be calico stuff here, but amme & neb on etsy. emma & ben backwards.

i'm so glad you have are at least selling the things you make when you want to make it. weighing the matters between motherhood and all the other things is hard. i love your bags and i've already told several others about your wonderful talent. hey, if i can't have your talent i can at least carry it!
