I LOVE these ideas! My kids' birthdays are in December, but perhaps we'll throw a 1/2 year party next summer. I hope you won't mind some of us stealing your ideas.
What a fantastic party idea! Oooh! I can't wait to finally have a backyard so my kids can have all their messies outside ALL THE TIME! :) Love your pics as usual!
LOVE LOVE the idea! I have three boys and this is PERFECT. Guessing you sent the dirty t-shirts home for the mothers to wash? I LOVE your blog. I am a creative person but am too tired right now. You inspire me. THANKS. P.S. glad your break away form all things "screens" is over.
What a party! i love it! Plus, I love the multitasking of cleaning up with the water hose and eating a cupcake. I do that quite often. You know, eat, and whatever else. Anyhow, love it!
last year we did a mud party for buddy- basically just turned the hose on our grass-less backyard. but this- with the paint and the condiments- so fun!
I bet Andy and all his friends loved it. I am going to keep this great idea in mind for Lydia Grace someday. Dani did such a great job with the photography. Mrs. Ammons and I were just saying yesterday how much we miss having her in class.
Well Cassy, my party genius, it was simple really.
Andy wanted a party. And I thought, what does Andy love? Pirates? Not really. Spiderman? Not so much. Lobsters? Yes, but I don't have enough energy for crustaceans.
So as I pondered this important event, I watched him pour his juice onto his plate, swirl in his yogurt, and disperse oreo crumbs across the table and declare...I'm done.
No way!! This is crazy, but when I turned 8 years old, I had a pig pen party! We did pretty much the exact same thing you did and got as dirty as possible! All of my friends still remember it as the best birthday party ever! So fun that your little sweetie got to make the same type of memories! What an awesome mom you are!
I win at being the friend of the girl that is good at everything....ha ha...you can't say the same.
Seriously, how much fun was this party? And the photos. Awesome job Dani.
I love the post and I want to have a messy party.
But, I have sworn off friend parties for the rest of my life.
It's a good thing, you are still in the game...someone has to put all those awesome ideas out there on the internet.
Love it.
Wish we had a little boy Andy's age so we could have come. I would have bought some kind of messy gift...cause you know I can't make one.
And, seriously, who could come up with anything better than that green bike...how cute...it is so Napolean DYNO-MITE (said like they did on the Jeffersons)
I'm logging this away in the dark filerooms of my brain so that when the time is right, Sophie will have a Messy Party, too. Or maybe I'll just wait a few more months for my birthday and throw myself a messy party. I like a good mess as much as the next gal. And cupcakes.
outside messes are better than inside ones.
ReplyDeleteI love it all. So cute! But I wouldn't expect anything less from you Miss Cally.

Kroger brand soap is 99 cents. And Dani was our resident photographer. She did great, eh?
ReplyDeleteAnd Noelle, my break from screens isn't officially over. Actually, these posts are kinda "under the table", if you know what I mean.

ReplyDeleteLooks so fun! What was the result of the t-shirts? Does it all wash out or does some stay on the shirt after it's washed?
